The Bert Mooney Airport is located in the Summit Valley of Butte, Montana and consists of two runways. The primary runway is 9,000 feet in length by 150 feet wide; the secondary runway is 5,000 feet in length by 75 feet wide. The airport runways are capable of handling small and large passenger aircraft and Boeing 757 on a regular frequency. Over 100 people work on the airport premises that serve our community. Skywest Airlines, the Delta Connection, serves Butte with two non-stop flights to Salt Lake City, Utah each day, flying a 50 passenger Canadian Regional Jets. Horizon Air, the Northwest / Alaska Airlines Connection serves Butte with two direct flights to Seattle, Washington each day, flying a 70 passenger Q400 twin propeller aircraft. Located on the airport is Butte Aviation, a full service fixed base operation. Their services include flight instruction, rental charters, mechanical services, aircraft storage, and refueling. They are open from dawn until dusk each day and will stay open later when prior arrangements are made. Also, new to the Bert Mooney Airport facility is Silver State Helicopter, a helicopter based flight school. Silver State, also offers a unique tour of Butte from the air.
The car rental agencies that serve the airport are Avis Rent a Car, Budget Rent a Car, and Hertz Rent a Car. The airport services include UPS and miscellaneous freight haulers. A 25,000 square foot warehouse is available within ¼ of a mile from the airport operations. Bert Mooney Airport has over 1,000 acres of property, some of which is available for commercial and small industrial planes. Additionally, inter-modal flight is available through the Port of Montana. Auto Parking Units have also recently been finished. Purchasing one of these spaces will offer lighted secure garage parking for travelers.
